Several Tioga County football players were selected to Class B, C and D all-state teams.
In Class B, Waverly quarterback Peyton Miller and Owego receiver Will Gladney were named to the first team. Owego all-purpose player Patrick Bilbrey was named to the second team. Three Waverly players were named to the third and fourth teams: Shane Carpenter, Brendyn Stillman, and Josh Mastrantuono.
In Class C, Newark Valley linebacker Shawn Potter was named first team while teammate Nick Schermerhorn was named to the second team defense. Tony Silvanic from Chenango Forks was named the Class C player of the year.
Tioga’s Jesse Manuel was named the Class D player of the year after leading the Tigers to their first state championship. Teammates Zach Hutchinson and Adam Zwierlein joined Manuel on the first team. Tanner Folk, Zach Blayda, and Jake Lewis were named second team, all from Tioga.
Class A and AA teams will be announced next week.
