UConn Defeats Syracuse 76 – 71 in Overtime at Madison Square Garden

Connecticut, playing its fourth game in four days. was at the top of its game.
They had to be to defeat Syracuse in overtime 76 – 71 in the Big East Tournament.
Kemba Walker was a one man wrecking crew for the Huskies with 33 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals.
The score was tied with 3:10 to go, when Connecticut began to pull gradually ahead.
The Huskies had a 68 – 62 lead with 20 seconds left, when Scoop Jardine went to work.
Jardine had two three pointers to tie the game at 68.
Connecticut had a chance to win in the final seconds, but threw the ball away.
Syracuse never led in OT, but they kept it close.
Walker again led the Huskies on offense and defense in the last two minutes and carried Uconn to the win.
Kris Joseph and Scoop Jardine led the Orange with 20 points each.
Rick Jackson had 12.
The Huskies play for the Big East championship on Saturday.
