After 21 years, the Waverly baseball team has finally been crowned champions of the Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Sophomore pitcher Bradey Roney gave up only three hits in a complete game shutout and senior Zach VanHouten drove in two runs as Waverly defeated Union Springs 7-0 in last night’s Large School Championship at Dunn Field in Elmira. In the small school title game, Tioga gave up two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as they lost to Trumansburg 2-1. In softball, Tioga won their fourth-straight IAC title with a 15-1 blowout of Moravia at Cornell. Pitcher Mariah Culver fired a one-hitter.
