The Syracuse men’s basketball team had their best offensive night of the season Thursday as they defeated Florida State 85-72 live on WEBO. The Orange were successful on 62-percent of their field goals at the Carrier Dome as they tallied their fourth straight win. They will head to Boston College for a 1pm game on Sunday. Section 4 released high school basketball playoff brackets on Thursday.In Class A, the Owego boys will play a semifinal at Johnson City on Feb. 23 while the girls will play a semi at Maine-Endwell on Feb. 24. In Class B, both the Waverly boys and girls will host first round home games, with the boys playing Seton Friday, Feb. 19 and the girls versus Chenango Valley on Saturday, Feb. 20. The Newark Valley boys will play at Chenango Forks on Tuesday. In Class C, the Tioga and Candor girls will play first round games on Wednesday.
The 2016 NASCAR season begins Saturday as 25 Sprint Cup drivers will take to Daytona Speedway for the Sprint Unlimited, a special 75-lap exhibition race. WEBO coverage will begin at 7pm. The Daytona 500 is next Sunday, Feb. 21.
