In NASCAR, it has been announced that Alex Bowman will drive the 88 car at Hendrick Motorsports next season. Bowman will be replacing Dale Earnhardt Jr, who is retiring at the end of this season. The twenty-four year old Bowman drove the No. 88 Chevrolet in 10 of the final 18 Cup races last season in place of the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr. He went on to earn three top-10 finishes with the team including a sixth-place result at Phoenix, where he won the pole position and led a race-high 194 laps. NASCAR will be at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend and can be heard here on WEBO. Coverage of the Xfinity race is Saturday at 3:30PM. The demolition derby is coming to the Tioga County Fair. The qualifying heats will run on Wednesday, Aug. 2nd with finals to be held on Saturday, Aug. 5th. Classes for the derby include – 1) Modified Compact for six and four cylinder vehicles; six cylinder cars must be front-wheel drive; no all-wheel drive or 4×4 cars will be allowed; 2) Stock V8, open to any year passenger car; 3) Stock Compact; 4) Mini Trucks; 5) Mini Vans.
