Owego’s Will Gladney scored four times to lead the Indians to a 48-20 home football win over Oneonta on Friday in a game heard live on WEBO.
The senior wide receiver caught four touchdown passes from Logan Neira, including one that went for 80 yards. Patrick Bilbrey, Stavion Canavan and Josh Goodrich added the other scores for Owego as the Indians improved to 3-0 for the first time since 1997. They host Chenango Valley this Friday for Homecoming.

Syracuse overcame several injuries to prevail in overtime 30-27 over Central Michigan on Saturday at the Carrier Dome. Jordan Fredericks ran it in from 4 yards out to win the game for Syracuse, who lost several offensive starters to injury during the game. The Orange have started their season with three straight wins for the first time since 1991, but have a tough challenge this Saturday as they host LSU.

Denny Hamlin passed up fresh tires in favor of track position and it paid big dividends Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway as the Joe Gibbs Racing driver won the opening event of the 2015 Chase for the Sprint Cup. Teammate Carl Edwards finished in second while Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman, and Matt Kenseth rounded out the top five. The series now heads to New Hampshire.
