An area high school football coaching legend is in the running to be named the best coach in the United States. Walton Coach Jim Hoover advanced through the regional round and is now in the finals with seven other coaches. In Hoover’s 38 years as head of the Warriors, he has won 294 games, lost 75, and tied one game in his career. He also won 14 sectional titles and two state titles. Hoover advanced through the state and regional contests to make it to the finals. The national round begins at noon on Monday and ends at noon on Tuesday, October 29. All vote totals start back at zero. The champion is crowned based on most votes in the final round. Voting opens today.
