State Street North in Binghamton is expected to reopen to traffic at 9 AM Monday, October 26, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The roadway has been closed during work on the Binghamton Route 363 Gateway Project.
The reopening applies to State Street North from the northbound side of the State Street Bridge to Susquehanna Street. NYSDOT says that portion of the road is returning to service one month ahead of schedule.
Drivers should still expect a restriction nearby. Eastbound Route 434 traffic using the State Street Bridge will remain reduced to one lane between the bridge and the ramp while other project work continues.
NYSDOT is asking motorists to follow posted signs, use caution and allow additional travel time through the work zone. The department’s advisory describes Monday’s change as an expected reopening, so drivers should continue to watch official travel information for any schedule adjustment.
The Route 363 Gateway Project is intended to improve transportation connections and public access in downtown Binghamton. Monday’s reopening restores a key local connection while the remaining lane restriction stays in place.
Current travel conditions are available through 511NY. Drivers approaching the work area should rely on the latest posted signs and official advisories rather than assuming all project restrictions have ended.
