Vestal became the champion of the Broome County High School Hockey Association with a win Thursday over Maine-Endwell, 4-3. The winner-take-all finale was held at the SUNY Broome Ice Center, and Nick Barney had a goal and two assists for the Golden Bears, and Ross Boots go-ahead goal gave Vestal the lead for good. The championship is the culmination of a double-elimination tournament, which saw Maine-Endwell beat Vestal last Thursday, in a shootout.
