One man has been placed on life support following a violent assault on Chestnut Street in Ithaca. Shortly after midnight on Saturday, police were called to Cayuga Medical Center for a 25-year-old man who was at the hospital after being assaulted. According to police, the man had been beaten up by at least three people and struck multiple times with a baseball bat. The victim had to be transported to a regional trauma center, and was last listed in stable condition. The investigation by Ithaca Police is ongoing.
