At about 1 AM this morning, a double-homicide suspect was pronounced dead, following a high speed chase on Interstate 81 North. The suspect was driving a black Monte-Carlo at speeds up to 140 MPH before he hit a police stop stick, between Exits 9 and 10 on I-81. The stop stick blew the suspect’s tire, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a ditch, and later killed him. Police have not released the name or cause of death yet. The incident led to the closure of I-81 North between exits 9 and 10 for several hours.
