The defense called for another mistrial yesterday morning in Schoharie County Court as the seventh week of testimony began in the murder trial of Cal Harris. Due to what defense attorney Bruce Barket called “frivolous objections” by the prosecution and Judge George Bartlett “sustaining with disdain”, the defense motioned for a mistrial for the eighth time. Bartlett denied the motion. The defense finished its cross examination of Michele Harris’ best friend Cindy Turner yesterday morning. Then the Harris’ family friend Linda Hyatt took the stand in the afternoon. Meanwhile, the judge is still considering a defense request to admit testimony and evidence implicating two other men in Michele Harris’ disappearance. Testimony will resume today.
