In the Cal Harris trial yesterday, a potential defense witness said she thinks her ex-boyfriend is responsible for the disappearance of Michele Harris. Julie Brinkman flew in from Texas and testified outside the presence of the jury in the morning. Brinkman said she dated Stacy Stewart earlier this year – the man the defense said is responsible for Michele’s disappearance. Also, the defense’s eleventh witness Kevin Tubbs took the stand again yesterday morning for cross-examination. Defense Attorney Bruce Barket thinks Tubbs may be his last witness, as the judge has denied the testimony of several of his other potential witnesses. The judge is expected to have a decision made today on how many of the defense’s potential witnesses will be allowed to testify to the jury, including Brinkman. He will also decide if Tubbs’ testimony identifying Stewart will be read to the jury.
