The jury announced it was deadlocked at 12:15 yesterday during the fourth day of deliberations in the third Cal Harris murder trial. Schoharie County Judge George Bartlett instructed the jury to continue deliberating until a verdict is reached. He instructed jurors to continue deliberating but to start with a fresh slate. He told them to be honest with themselves, but to also listen to fellow jurors. Jurors retired to the jury room to continue deliberating around 12:30 p.m. A little more than an hour later, the jury submitted its fifteenth note asking to view various evidence exhibits. The list of exhibits was long and included DNA charts, photos of bloodstain evidence and a portion of a rug with a blood transfer stain from the Harris’ house. Jurors also asked for a magnifying glass. As of yesterday, the jury had been deliberating for approximately 16 hours over four days. Jury deliberations will enter a fifth day this morning at 9:15 a.m. in Schoharie County Court.
