A house at 419 Pump Hill Rd. in Newark Valley was destroyed in a fire yesterday morning. Nanticoke Fire Department was first on the scene followed by Newark Valley. When crews arrived, the house was engulfed in flames. First responders said no one was home at the time of the fire. Crews from West Corners, Glen Aubrey, Union center, Berkshire and Maine assisted in mutual aid. Firefighters could not attack the fire from the inside since the floor was collapsing. The cause is under investigation by Tioga County Fire Investigators.
