A man was found dead late yesterday morning after a large search in the town of Nichols. The man was originally reported missing Saturday night. His body was found in a wooded area near 1301 Red Brush Road shortly before noon yesterday. Local law enforcement sources said the man was 72 years old. But state police did not release any description of the individual. Several fire companies in Tioga County were originally asked to help find him, but state troopers quickly located his body. A Tioga County Search and Rescue Squad was dispatched, along with the Town of Owego’s Southside Fire Company. ATVs and search dogs assisted in the search effort. The man’s death is currently under investigation.
