The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for a man who they say impersonated a sheriff’s deputy to solicit money. The suspect allegedly called his victim and said that money was owed to the sheriff’s department, and that the victim would be arrested if it wasn’t paid in person. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that they do not solicit money. If you receive a similar call, hang up your phone and call the authorities immediately.
