New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed a bill allowing Mixed Martial Arts in the State of New York. New York is the last state to legalize professional Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA. Concerns about safety were a major consideration when deciding whether or not to legalize the competitive sport. The first UFC event will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City in November. A second UFC event is also being planned for Upstate New York, but a time and venue has yet to be decided.
