Cause of death determined for body found near river

A cause of death has been determined for the body found along the Chenango River on Tuesday. Following an autopsy at Lourdes Hospital, the Broome County Sheriff’s office has announced that a cause of death was fresh water drowning. The body has been identified as female, an exact identity has not been determined.
