The man accused of hitting and killing New York State Trooper Christopher Skinner in 2014 has all charges dropped but one. Though Florida man, Almond Upton, was indicted on 11 charges, he will now only face a charge of first-degree murder as he heads to trial later this month. The change comes after an agreement between both the prosecution and defense in the case. The prosecution says that it will be easier for jurors to focus on the heart of the case when they only have to determine a verdict for one charge. A conviction of first-degree murder carries a maximum sentence of up to life in prison without parole.
