A peer-to-peer veterans support group is coming to Broome County. The creation of the Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Support Group was announced by Senator Fred Akshar at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena yesterday. The support group will provide veterans with a safe place to receive counseling, education, and more. The program will take a bottom-up approach to supporting veterans, starting with the veterans themselves. Only 15 other counties in New York currently have similar veteran services.
