The City of Binghamton has officially launched its pilot program for new parking kiosks in the downtown area. There are five new parking kiosks taking the place of former parking meters. In addition to coins, the new devices can also accept credit cards for payment. Once a user pays for parking, the kiosk will print a time stub which must be placed on the dashboard of their vehicle. The time remaining will NOT be displayed on the kiosk itself. If this pilot program proves successful, the City of Binghamton is considering purchasing 50 more kiosks.
