
Owego Free Academy senior Lindsay Field (left) now owns a world record in powerlifting. Field dead lifted 380 pounds Friday in Erie, PA, breaking the previous record of 364 pounds for her age and gender. Field got a trophy to bring home, and was also honored before the Owego football game on Friday. Besides setting lifting records, she also doubles as the team’s manager. Congratulations Lindsay!
Speaking of the Indians, they beat Dryden 38-6 Friday live on WEBO. Five different Owego players scored in the win, including Josh Goodrich twice, along with Caleb and Micah Marshall, Dustin Dann, and Jason Kithcart as Owego improved to 4-2 on the season. In other games from the weekend: Waverly’s Hunter Bodine kicked a field goal to force overtime and Braydon Rice scored in overtime as the Wolverines beat Corning 21-14, David Crow scored four touchdowns as Newark Valley shutout Lansing 58-0, Tioga fumbled at the 1-yard line at the end of regulation as they lost at Elmira Notre Dame 22-16, and Spencer-Van Etten/Candor dropped their first game of the season, 26-20 to Oneonta in overtime.
