In daylight, in sunsets, in cups of coffee? How do you measure a year?

For the Broome County District Attorney’s office, the number is a little more bleak. There were a total of 76 drug overdose deaths in 2016 in Broome County alone. That number is four times higher than the New York State Average per 100,000 people. About 90% of those overdose deaths were caused by heroin and opioid usage. Recently inaugurated Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says that he will be issuing a health alert as a result of these deaths.
