In sports, Syracuse came from behind to beat Wake Forest 81-76 live on WEBO last night. Andrew White scored a season-high 27 points to lead the Orange to their 12th win of the season. Also at Syracuse, the ACC has released the 2017 football schedule. The Orange will host seven games at the Dome, including their first three weeks and a home tilt against National Champion Clemson on Oct. 13. Click here to see the full schedule.
In high school, Section 4 Football tweeted out preliminary 2017 schedules for all divisions last night. Changes include a plan to lump all eight of the Class B teams – including Owego and Waverly – into one division, and doing the same with the seven teams in Class C. Also in high school football, longtime Chenango Forks assistant Dave Chickanosky is retiring after six decades on the sidelines for the Blue Devils. “Chick” started coaching at Forks in 1968 after two years at Walton and was named “Assistant of the Year” by his peers at last year’s state football clinic.
