In early August, the New York State Police in Auburn received a report of an attempted robbery in the town of Locke, Cayuga County. The victim was lured to a remote area after agreeing to meet with a subject he had met on an online dating site. As a result of an undercover operation conducted by the State Police, on August 29th, 19-year-old Cameron Fox, of Locke, and 21-year-old Chad P. Jennings, of Auburn, were charged with Attempted Robbery. It is alleged that Fox and Jennings attempted to steal money from the victim; the suspects appeared to have a handgun. Both were arraigned in the town of Locke Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail on bail. The investigation is still ongoing with further charges and arrest possible.
