The manslaughter conviction of Douglas Every of the town of Tioga has been affirmed by the New York State Court of Appeals. Every was convicted of stabbing his roommate, Milton Jump, in October 2013. Every had claimed that he had ineffective counsel and that there was misconduct by the prosecution in the case. He is serving a 17 year sentence.
