A SUNY Oneonta student has been arrested for stabbing his female roommate in an off-campus apartment. 20-year-old Julian VanCourt-Wels, of Schenectady, has been charged with Attempted Murder, Assault, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. His victim was found bleeding profusely from stab wounds to her face, neck, shoulders, and arms caused by a kitchen knife. Her injuries are not life threatening. The victim was also a student at SUNY Oneonta. VanCourt-Wels was remanded to the Otsego County Jail without bail. He will also face action by SUNY Oneonta. No motive was disclosed. The investigation continues.
