Endicott Man Arrested for Pointing Loaded Gun at Lopke Driver; Two Felonies, Released

On May 1, 2020 at approximately 1:03 p.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Adam S. Wurth, age 28 of Endicott, NY for the felonies of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree.  He was also charged with the misdemeanor of Menacing in the second degree.

Troopers were dispatched to a report that the operator of a vehicle waved and pointed a gun at the driver of a Lopke dump truck.  The complainant told troopers that the suspect did this while traveling on State Route 17 in the city of Binghamton.  The complainant was able to obtain a description of the vehicle and license plate.

Troopers and deputies from the Broome County Sheriff’s Department assisted in locating the vehicle in the village of Endicott.  Troopers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and troopers found Wurth to be in possession of a loaded and illegal handgun.

Wurth was arrested, processed and virtually arraigned, then released on his own recognizance.  A temporary order of protection was issued to the complainant by a judge.
