Bath man charged with attempted murder after incident during child custody exchange

A Bath man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident during a child custody exchange.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Jason Christian has been charged with attempted murder in the second degree, criminal use of a firearm and menacing.

Christian allegedly fired multiple rifle rounds into a vehicle while the victim was in the car during the incident on Monday.

The suspect turned himself in and was remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
