A Towanda woman has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide after her husband and 3-year-old son were found dead in a room at Great Wolf Lodge in Monroe County.
Pocono Township Police say officers were sent to the resort in Scotrun at about 3:13 PM Monday, October 12, after Metallica Rose Harrison called for help. Officers made contact with Harrison and found that she had injuries. While checking the room for other family members, police found an adult man and a 3-year-old boy dead.
Harrison was taken to a hospital while officers began investigating the deaths as homicides. Police later filed two criminal-homicide counts and said she would await arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge.
The police department identifies the case as incident 2026-00011728. Investigators say the case remains active and that additional information will be posted through the department’s public updates when available.
Pocono Township Police described the deaths as an isolated domestic tragedy and said there is no threat to the community. The department also said the investigation has involved the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office and Coroner’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police forensic units, St. Luke’s EMS and resort staff.
Criminal charges are allegations. Harrison is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
