A Chemung County man is facing several felony counts connected to the sexual abuse of a child.
According to the Chemung County District Attorney’s Office, 49-year-old Michael Fields was indicted on five counts of sexual abuse in the first degree and one count of aggravated sexual abuse in the third degree, both Class D felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Fields is accused of repeatedly touching a child under the age of 17 while they were sleeping. The crimes occurred multiple times between October of 2020 and March of 2025.
