A 29-year-old Wyalusing man has been sentenced to time in state prison for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, Troy Aaron Stone was sentenced to a minimum of eight months to a maximum of five years in state prison.
Stone was previously convicted of homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by motor vehicle and DUI back in 2016 following a fatal crash in Wyalusing Township.
He served significant time for those offense and was on parole at the time of this recent DUI arrest.
“Fortunately, Stone’s actions did not harm anyone but himself this time, but it just goes to show how seriously we need to take Driving Under the Influence offenses,” said Bradford County District Attorney Richard Wilson.
Stone will serve an additional “parole hit” because this offense happened while he was on parole for a previous offense.
“It will be quite some time before Stone is even eligible to be released from State Prison, and when he is ultimately released, he will be on supervision for a lengthy period of time once again,” confirmed District Attorney Wilson.
