Penn Yan man killed in stabbing near Rochester

A Penn Yan man was killed in a fatal stabbing near Rochester.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just before 3 pm on Saturday at the Extended Stay America Hotel in Henrietta, New York.

Deputies found one man inside a hotel room covered in blood and another man deceased with several stab wounds.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Penn Yan resident Daniel Fiero.

According to police, 36-year-old Rochester resident Richard Leo has been arrested for the stabbing.

He has been charged with murder and is being held at the Monroe County Jail.
