A Towanda man has been sentenced to years in state prison for leading police on a high-speed chase.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 33-year-old Mitch Johnson was sentenced to a minimum of 58 months to a maximum of 19 years in state prison for the crimes of burglary, evading arrest on foot, fleeing and eluding and possession with intent to deliver.
The pursuit, which reached speeds of 100 miles per hour, began at Walmart in Athens Township, crossed the border into Waverly before going up Route 34 and eventually to Route 96 in Spencer.
Johnson was eventually apprehended in the Candor area.
