WAVERLY, N.Y. — A local barber shop is rallying around one of its own as his daughter remains in critical condition following a medical emergency.
Broad Street Barber Shop will donate all proceeds and tips from haircuts on March 28th from 8 a.m. to noon to support 11-year-old Kinley Hogan, the daughter of one of the shop’s barbers.
Kinley was recently life-flighted to Geisinger Hospital after suffering diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious and life-threatening condition. She remains in the ICU, has already undergone surgery, and is expected to need additional procedures.
Her parents have remained by her side throughout her hospitalization.
Kinley is described as a bright and energetic young girl who enjoys soccer, singing, art, and spending time with family and friends. She also has a strong interest in math and had been preparing for a competition she was unable to attend due to her sudden illness.
The fundraiser will help cover medical expenses, including intensive care and future treatments, as well as travel costs for her family during her recovery.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, get a haircut, and show support for the Hogan family during this difficult time.
