Woman injured in car vs. pedestrian accident in Newfield

A woman was airlifted after she was struck by a vehicle in Newfield on Thursday.

According to the New York State Police, the incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. in the Town of Newfield.

A 44-year-old woman from Newfield was treated on the scene before being flown to the Upstate Medical Center.

A 28-year-old Newfield man was driving south on Van Kirk Road when he allegedly failed to see a pedestrian in the roadway and struck her.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
