A Sayre man is facing charges following an incident on Monday in Athens Township.
According to police, 41-year-old Zakery T. Atkinson has been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and strangulation along with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and terroristic threats and other related charges.
Atkinson was charged following an alleged domestic incdent on Hummingbird Lane.
When officers arrived, a female victim was found with blood on her head and neck.
Atkinson is accused of choking the victim until she could not breathe and smashing her head against various objects, causing her to bleed.
Atkinson was remanded on $75,000 bail.
