The Union Pacific’s Big Boy steam locomotive rolled through the Twin Tiers on Thursday night.
Crowds lined the streets from Elmira to Waverly to get a look at the historic train, which is leading the way as part of Union Pacific’s “America at 250” cross-country celebration, honoring our nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
The Big Boy spent the night at the rail yard in Sayre before leaving at 9 a.m. this morning to head to Owego for a Whistle Stop at 10:45 a.m.
The train will stop at the Erie Railway Depot, now home to The Turn restaurant and golf simulator on Depot Street.
