A Tioga County Grand Jury has indicted a man in connection with a fatal car accident in Richford earlier this year.
David R. Welch was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, manslaughter in the second degree, criminally negligent homicide, vehicular assault in the second degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs and reckless driving.
The charges stem from a two-car crash on State Route 79 in Richford on Saturday, Jan. 3.
Welch was driving one of the cars involved and was taken to a local hospital for treatment along with one passenger.
The driver of the second vehicle, 47-year-old Todd E. Benedict, later passed away from his injuries.
Welch had pleaded not guilty and was released with non-monetary bail conditions.
