A Johnson City man has been indicted on felony charges following two Chemung County burglary investigations that authorities say are connected to a broader series of crimes in New York and Pennsylvania.
The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office said 36-year-old Frank V. Criscitello faces two counts of second-degree burglary, a Class C felony; two counts of third-degree grand larceny, a Class D felony; and one count of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Deputies said the investigations began with reports received January 7, 2025, in the Town of Elmira and June 20, 2025, in the Town of Chemung. Investigators allege Criscitello stole thousands of dollars in jewelry and cash from locations in Chemung County.
The Sheriff’s Office said the two cases developed into a multi-county, two-state investigation involving a suspected burglary spree across New York and Pennsylvania. Authorities worked with other agencies, conducted interviews and executed multiple search warrants while developing the case.
Investigators said four arrests have been made in connection with the broader investigation and that additional arrests remain possible. The public release did not identify the other people arrested or list every jurisdiction involved.
Criscitello was indicted by a Chemung County grand jury, arraigned on the charges and returned to the Broome County Jail, where the Sheriff’s Office said he was already being held on other charges.
An indictment is an accusation, not a finding of guilt. Criscitello is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
