Families in Sayre and Athens Township can take part in community trick-or-treating tonight, Thursday, Oct. 29.
Sayre Borough’s official event calendar lists trick-or-treat hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Athens Township’s official calendar also lists its township trick-or-treat event beginning at 6 p.m.
Drivers should slow down and watch carefully for children in neighborhoods, at intersections and around parked vehicles. Families can improve visibility by using reflective clothing, flashlights or glow sticks. Adults should accompany younger children, choose well-lit routes and check treats before children eat them.
Residents who are not participating can help reduce confusion by leaving porch lights off. Participating households should keep walkways clear and pets secured away from visitors. The municipal calendars provide the current local schedule for the evening.
