Beginning today, it is now illegal to speed past a garbage or recycling truck. Motorists must instead slow down and go around. Drivers who refuse to decrease their speed to pass a garbage or recycling truck could face a fine of up to $100 and up to 15 days in jail. The new law comes following the death of a Taylor Garbage employee who was struck by a speeding motorist a year ago this month.
