Bath man charged after allegedly holding woman against her will

A Bath man is facing charges after he allegedly held a woman against her will.

According to the Bath Police Department, 41-year-old Anthony Truax has been charged with rape in the first degree, a Class B felony, and misdemeanor counts of unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest,

Truax is accused of holding the victim inside an apartment against her will.

A witness told police that a woman was being held in an apartment, but couldn’t give an exact address.

Police located the apartment on Howell Street and identified Truax as the suspect.

The victim was found and safely removed from the residence,

Truax is a three-time convicted felon in New York State and a level two sex offender on the state’s registry.

He was remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
