An Ithaca man has been indicted on manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, and other charges after investigation into a fatal crash that occurred last October. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Johnathan Byrd was driving more than 100 miles per hour while under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he lost control on Interstate 86 in Horseheads. The vehicle went off the shoulder and rolled several times into the median. 19-year-old Luciano Servetto of Ithaca was ejected and killed while another passenger – 34-year-old Carlton Clinton of Elmira – suffered a severe neck injury. Byrd was taken into custody Monday after the indictment and sent to the Chemung County Jail pending further court action.
