Demolition is underway at the former TGI Friday’s restaurant in Big Flats.

The property on County Road 64 is expected to be home to a new Chick-Fil-A franchise.

The popular fast food chain’s plans are currently before the Chemung County Planning Board.

If it gets final approval, Chick-Fil-A is planning to build a 5,000-square foot restaurant with a two-lane drive thru.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2027.

This would be the third location in the Twin Tiers, with two others currently under construction in Broome County.
