One person was killed in a fire in Wellsburg on Friday night.
According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, the fire started at around 7 pm on Friday.
Initial reports indicated that a resident was trapped inside the home at the time of the fire.
A 78-year-old man was found deceased and removed from the building while the fire was being put out.
The victim has been identified as Willard E. Mann.
According to officials, the fire was caused by an appliance in the back of the home.
