Thousands of dollars worth of heroin were seized by police in Norwich on Wednesday night. 51-year-old John Zangari and 44-year-old Lynn Minck, both of Norwich, were arrested for allegedly bringing a large amount of bundled heroin into Norwich. Heroin was found in the couple’s vehicle when they were stopped around 5:30 Wednesday, and officers then searched the couple’s apartment. The arrest comes following a lengthy investigation by Norwich Police and the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office. Both Zangari and Minck are facing a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal nuisance, both felonies. The heroin has an estimated street value of around $5,000.
