A man from Deposit has been arrested in connection to a murder that occurred in Oneonta on New Year’s Day. 25-year-old Joshua Underwood is accused of killing 52-year-old Mark Morrison of Main Street in Oneonta on Sunday. Police say Underwood used a blunt object to strike Morrison multiple times, inflicting fatal injury. Underwood was also charged with attempted arson, and criminal possession of a weapon by authorities. He has since been arraigned and sent to the Otsego County Jail without bail. If convicted, Underwood could face life in prison.
