The former treasurer of the Glen Aubrey Fire Company admitted on Thursday to stealing thousands from the department. 58-year-old Terry Gow pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny in Broome County Court. She admitted to taking about $58,000 between December of 2008 and December of 2013. She said she made the unauthorized withdrawals from the fire company’s bank accounts because she was experiencing financial problems. Gow is expected to pay the money back using $20,000 from her brother while also making monthly payments of $1,000 on her own. With the guilty plea she will be likely sentenced to probation and be required to pay back the money, but if she is unable to make restitution, she risks going to state prison for 2 to 7 years. Sentencing is currently scheduled for September 18th.
